G.I.F.T. Structured Play & Preschool Readiness Program

Building Confidence, Independence, and Skills for School Success.

The G.I.F.T. Structured Play & Preschool Readiness Program provides children ages 3–5 with guided opportunities to practice the skills that help prepare them for preschool and kindergarten. Through structured play, group activities, and predictable routines, children can build confidence participating in a classroom-like environment.

Children have opportunities to practice following directions, transitioning between activities, communicating with peers and adults, participating in group activities, and developing age-appropriate independence.

While children participate in structured activities, families can use this time to attend appointments, work responsibilities, or other commitments.

What Children Practice

Our program focuses on foundational developmental skills such as:

  • Transitioning from one activity to another
  • Sitting and participating during group activities
  • Waiting and taking turns
  • Sharing and playing alongside or with peers
  • Communicating wants, needs, and ideas
  • Practicing age-appropriate independence
  • Cleaning up and completing simple routines
  • Building confidence in a group setting

Activities may include circle time, guided play, cooperative games, arts and crafts, movement activities, snack time, and structured transitions designed to help children practice skills they may encounter in a preschool or kindergarten setting.
